At HB Roadways we have completed numerous pothole repairs from small patching to large pothole repairs.
Pot holes are an increasing problem in Scotland and throughout the North East of England. Pot holes occur when water spreads through the cracks that start to show in the deteriorating areas in the old tarmac surface of a road or a driveway. When the water that spreads through the cracks freezes, it causes the cracks in the road to rupture causing the cracks to become pot holes. Many of these pot holes appear in car parks, factory yards, driveways and main roads.
The solution to having these pot holes repaired is to have the deteriorating areas cut out with machine cutters and all the loose and broken debris removed. The pot holes will then be patched up with a heavy duty coarse tarmacadam. The pot holes will be sealed with a hot liquid bitumen tar, to help keep water from getting into the edges.
